Please chime in on what the cause could be. Brand new unit, but I know this is probably user error. I read the manual twice, but cannot troubleshoot without some help. Thank you for watching.
Thank you for reaching out. Since my post, I experienced major health issues. So I have not been able to try out the unit since my post. I did perform a factory reset and a software update and did turn in the unit for a few minutes. It seemed to have acted correctly, but I did not take to the beach to test out. Kindest Regards, Al
First guess would be electromagnetic interference. That is a response consistent with heavy EMI. If it is EMI it is usually location specific (example: by power lines). But I have a feeling that you tried it at different sites perhaps with the same results? If you are nowhere near power lines and it keeps acting like this you need to return it and ask for another unit.
Thank you, Merrill. Yes, clear sailing on the beach at least 1,000 feet from any structure or power. Yes at two different sites 5 miles apart. So go back to the distributor or relief is your opinion?
2 different sites 5 miles apart could have EMI. Power lines could be underground but usually that is not the case. If it was fine on the beach test in one more spot where you are around wilderness. If it behaves like that ask to switch it.
How did you make out? What was the solution to the problem?
Have you tried a factory reset?
