IRATE Metal Detector Forum

Im heading into retirement and possibly going from Maine to South Carolina (Conway area) hopefully in 2025. I have some experience with detectors all with the Garrett AT Pro for a few years and Garrett pinpointer. I dont have this anymore. Im REALLY looking forward to to having some GOOD beaches close by for once. The Manticore is a little over my budget but the 700 and 900 it looks like I could add a couple more coils and a pinpointer and be a little more diverse in my options and be in the same ballpark as the Manticore. Reviews put both of these in the same class pretty much. My question I guess is my thinking correct in this assessment? Will I be missing out not getting the Manticore? I do really like the screen and options set-up of the Manticore but I wont have much trouble learning the 700 or 900. Thanks for any guidance.

Its end of 2024 and I dont find to many current vids of the Legend or the equinox 900. It seems these two would be right in my price range. I know the Legend is a couple hundred less but if that was not an issue overall is the equinox 900 better? This would be my first detector. Im in my 50's and can burn a little cash, I do want as good as I can afford though. Thoughts? In 2025 are these both gunna still be contenders??? Merril! Love your vids!
