We all understand that dirt varies in magnetism and mineralization and each locale has unique challenges. For instance, bottle caps in New York City are ABUNDANT! There are no universally perfect settings for any metal detector because soil / sand are not universally the same across the Earth.. We can help each other by describing the challenges our location and what settings we use to address the challenges.
For my Equinox, my go to settings are shown in the video below at 16:35: Field 1 or Park 1, Sensitivity 23/24 on the Equinox 800, recovery 4-6. Fe - 3 or F2 at 3. I will add that I used to run auto tracking, I also used to do manual ground balances frequently, but now I try to run the ground balance at 0 when the ground permits. What are your thoughts?
Thanks Merrill. Appreciate the time & love for the hobby you put into this work.
If this story doesn't make someone want to try the Nox 800 or other Equinox models, then they don't like finding big Gold.
