ive had my legend for about 2 months,(thank you merril!) took a break for a few years, decided to cash in on the sportscard thing and go back to swinging. finding this guy merril on the tube had me hooked and a believer in the legend. now im back and have been swinging almost daily, love it, finding a heck of alot better campared to the ace150, yupp huge upgrade. now i look all over the innerwebs for questions tips tricks ect, and found some good but what i am missing is what im not finding. i want to start a running thread for atleast myself to look thru and ask myself question and maybe get some knowledgable answers. when i think i have it figured out, another rabbit hole opens and makes me question all my settings agian. my thread my questions, i may ask pointlest or blantantly obvious questions, i may ask life changing questions idk but i would like answers and suggestions to any and all please.. looking forward to mastering this machine with all my fellow and fellowette treasure hunters!

A couple of observations Ive had since only owning the Legend a few months is that it can detect quite deep, whether its a copper penny or a piece of brass or aluminum...like 12 inches or more but youll start losing info at that point and it cant tell you whether its ferrous or non ferrous. That happened to me when I found a small Sterling Silver bracelet, it was very thin but under dense rocky dirt. It ran up at 52 but couldnt tell me anything else. Try to get into the habit of digging everything unless you know for sure its a bottle cap or a pull tab, etc. I call them ghost signals and doubt thats the correct verbage but if you get a strong target ID number with no iron discrimination info, be prepared to dig deep a lot of times. The Multi frequency settings correspond to low frequencies to mid frequencies to high frequencies. The manual says M1 focuses on low conductors but you get better depth where as M3 is aimed at high conductors and their reactiveness. To answer your question Id say Yes, running at 40khz will still respond well to an object 2-3 inches under the ground or under wood chips. Ive had coins lodged under big rocks that the Legend still tattled on but in Multi setting but this is the advantage to using multi simultaneous freq
and park 1 park 2, field 1 field 2 is just switching from m1 to m2 correct? or is their a specific way to chage park/fiekd mode from 1-2 and also run either m1 or m2?
basic question numero uno- you have different modes and different frequencys, park field beach gold m1 m2 m3 4 10 15 20 40. now going thru these and switching from each one say i start with field m2, then i switch to park m1. i know tones will sound different but will the different frequencys skip and not read the metal or if metal is present(not to deep, i understand deep targets are hard to hit) will it still read? or if in in a totlot running 40khz, will it skip over a small silver pendant maybe 2-3inches under wood chips?
