Hi all I'm Tom from West Palm Beach. I hunt county parks and beaches. (Not in the water with my fisher f5) but been detecting for many years.
.I been eyeballing the Nox 900 and Deus 2, but I can't afford either new and am afraid to buy used. So I've read and watched vids on the the legend. My question is, does anyone know when they were designated "New Generation"? Or when the New G came out? I'm trying to figure out if all I've watched and read was "Old Generation" machines or the New, and if so what was changed? I would hope changes made it better, if not I'll keep shopping. But I'm ready to buy something, and trying to do my homework. I really like your honest reviews.
One last question. Are the $120 and up pin pointers that much better than the $20 Chinese carrots? Mine has done the job and lasted years and still works. I just have to be pretty close to target. But that's pin pointing right? Any opinions?
Regards, Tom
KellyCo said it's all next Gen. I am not sure what next Gen is But it maybe the lighter metal detector. We have the legend and on the beach we find it better then our MineLab. For the record, MineLab makes a killer metal detector but we just find all the bottle caps besides coins ect. We can not figure out how to identify bottle caps with the MineLab. Matter of fact, when we are on a sand berm in the ocean, The MineLab is amazing just like the Legend. With the legend we can void the bottle caps. Another thing is that we just find more quality stuff with the Legend.
KellyCo helped us along the way and when our "Associate" in Long Island got Cancer and is still fighting Cancer, KellyCo sent him some good luck stuff before his first surgery.
On the beach we use a sand scoop and not a pinpointer. In the field we use a shovel we got from KellyCo.
The cheap pinpointers are the worst. I rather not have a pin pointer if that was the only option.
In my opinion the Notka Legend is the best beach detector for the money. I would get the Nokta Legend at $599 and spend the money on a better pin pointer. Stay away from the Chinese pinpointers. They can interfere with your detector. No question that the XP Deus II and Nox 900 are great detectors but you’ll spend much more.
