One of our associates and I purchased the Nokta Makro Legend from KellyCo. We used them before we updated them on the beach then used them after we updated them again back on the beach. Other then being quiet in the wet and dry sand after the update, We still had a metal detector that worked like a metal detector should. I actually feel I am digging less and finding better quality targets.......Unlike our Nox that finds everything and you have to dig everything to find that iron or bottlecap. Kind of like a PI metal detector. Not bad if you have all day to metal detect, your the only one on the beach metal detecting but there comes a time when time is short and at my age time is short.
If you are finding quality targets, Should you drive yourself crazy and worry about the ones that got away even if they where never under your coil to begin with?
CHOW!
The boys and I just ordered shaft extensions for all of our legend to make them all just a little bit longer and easier for use to use from KellyCo. I called and talked to, Get this, TONY from Kellyco and they are now on the way.
CHOW!
We updated the Legend to the 1.10 and one of our associates hit a local beach yesterday in the northeast in that freezing weather testing it along with a suggestion of settings from Mr.Legend himself.
We do not hit parks as the norm so i do not know how the legend will operate with the new update in the park.
CHOW!
my battery seems to last 5-6 hours but I only last around 4 so it works out OK.
I am still learning how to use my Legend and was digging a sh*t load of bottlecaps until I tested and understood how to correctly use and interpret the ferrous gauge on the machine. I also have a limited number of swings and poop out after about four hours so any help from the machine is appreciated. It's good to know that there is the potential for missing good stuff but some of the areas in Chicago are carpeted with layers of bottlecaps. Same thing with tin foil covers, don't care if I miss very small gold at 11 if I can avoid digging the loads of tin.
My Legend sometimes freezes (no sound, screen locked), when I'm editing a notch discrimination. It happens if you mask/unmask id-numbers quickly. I reported the manufacturer and the advice was to press the power button for 30 seconds. Do others have such problem, or is my unit faulty?
In addition the battery depletes after 6-7 hours use (multi1/2/3, bt-headphones, screen dimmest light). Manual says 8-20 hours, 6-7 is below lower limit. How many hours you get?
I have updated from simplex to legend a few weeks ago and I don't dig many bottle caps any more. I don't have experience from other multi-frequency detectors, but the difference over simplex is huge. Now I can search city trashy parks for coins. Gold sets at bottlecap/pulltab/aluminium area. Any hints how to find gold/rings at trashy parks?
